What is Body Shaming? Is it Sexual Offensive?

Body shaming carries humiliating comments about making inappropriate negative about someone’s appearance, body shape, color, height, weight and skin

It is very popular in society to comment to oneself or others about negative and bulling someone for their appearance.

Punishment:

Yes it is sexual harassment Article 14 upholds Equality before Law. It’s evident that the citizens are treated alike putting aside their physical appearance or gender. Also the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Protection and Redressal) Act 2013 has also helped women to fight against body shaming. Before this Act, many women were humiliated by comments and gestures hampering their modesty. Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 also provides against outraging of modesty of women. 

Under Section 509 of the IPC, obscene gestures, indecent body language and negative comments directed at any woman or girl or exhibiting any object which intrudes upon the privacy of a woman, carry a penalty of imprisonment for one year or a fine or both.
 

Why is body shaming prevalent in the society?

1. Because it's a type of fun for people & simply jealous
2. It's a spicy topic to gossip for people
3. Because there are people who are insecure about their own body type.
4. Because they fail to understand life.
5. Because they can't see “Karma"
